Under Section 29A of the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994 (Amendment) 2022 [Act A1648], employers whose workplaces are not included in any class or description of place of work requiring a Safety and Health Officer (SHO) under Section 29(1) are required to appoint one employee as an Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Coordinator.
To fulfil this responsibility effectively, the appointed employee should successfully complete the prescribed OSH Coordinator Training Programme conducted by a Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) Malaysia Registered Training Centre.
